Welcome to the Kumon Thabazimbi Centre. Kumon is a programme that instils the necessary educational life skills through the medium of Mathematics and English.

It is a journey of discovery that unlocks and develops the potential within each and every child.

At Advanced College Kumon Mathematics forms part of the school curriculum and is free for every learner in the ECD & Foundation Phases.

As a school we want to ensure that the foundations of mathematics are fully understood and firmly cemented for the learner to build on from there.

The Centre

Learners attend the Centre twice a week for classes and do homework on all the other days.

Toru Kumon's aim was to develop the ability of students to the maximum by enabling them to study at a level appropriate for each individual.

Toru Kumon's vision was to foster a mindset of self-learning in children, enabling them to reach their maximum potential through individualized learning. He believed that every child possesses inherent potential and can excel through self-paced, individualized learning, becoming independent and proactive individuals.
